SOURCE: location of a pcv valve on a 2005 honda accord

The general location mentioned is correct. However, unlike most PCV valves there is no hose connection to the valve. There is a single bolt that attachs the PCV valve to the valve cover. Loosen the bolt, then remove the PCV valve from the valve cover. It is inserted inside the valve cover. Very different from most PCV valves as far as attachment method to the valve cover.

. Solving a P0449 Engine Code 2005 Chevy Monty Carlo

DTC P0449 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit.
Circuit Description
An ignition voltage is supplied to the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid valve. The control module grounds the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve control circuit to close the valve by means of an internal switch called a driver. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve as ON or OFF. The control module monitors the status of the driver. If the control module detects an incorrect voltage for the commanded state of the driver, this DTC sets.

PO446 OBD code on 2005 4.8 liter Chevy Silverado

  • Evaporative Control Vent valve has only one purpose. It closes in order to seal the vent so the EVAP system can pressurize and ensure there are no leaks. Evap vent valve is usually supplied Batt. voltage with key on. The ECM's driver controls the ground, and when grounded, activates the valve (closing it). If the ECM detects a short to ground, and open,or a short to battery voltage on the control circuit, P0446 will set. Code also may refer to ECM detecting that EVAP system is unable to achieve or maintain

    vacuum during test.

    Possible causes

    • Faulty vent valve
    • Open, short or excessive resistance on Vent valve control circuit
    • Blockage of vent valve
    • Bad PCM
    Possible solutions:
    Replace Vent valve
  • Repair open, short, or resistance problem in control circuit
  • Repair open, or short, or resistance problem in power circuit
  • Replace PCM I hope this atleast narrowed it for you.

I have a Honda Oddysey 1998, and in the scanner show the code P1607

P1607 Engine Control Module (ECM)/Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Internal Circuit Malfunction.

aquire the appropriate pinout diagram for your ecu's plugs. then proceed to verify each of the ecu's power wires have the correct voltage. then proceed to perform a continuity test on all ecu grounds. this means checking voltage from the ecu plug to the ground location that the wire goes to. you should find your problem somewhere within there if you have already swapped out with a KNOWN GOOD ecu.

No start

it could be many things my suggestion is if check engine light comes on retrieve the code from ecu either buy following instructions in troubleshooting section of repair manual ex:haynes or chiltons or purchasing OBDI scanner from local parts store then moving on from there
first your mechanical timing is it on the money? using timing light and repair manual to check
second faulty crankcase or cam shaft positioning sensor
timing belt needs replacement
bad grounding system
weak voltage system ex:battery
faulty ecu ignition circuit or ecu malfunction
faulty map sensor
faulty ignition spark are you getting it correctly? or enough of it ether is lighter and far more volatile then fuel
faulty evap system ex: purge valve or charcoal cannister, EGR system
