1993 honda accord running hot, changed thermostat

I have a 1993 Honda Accord that was running hot, checked fluids and for leaks, was fine, so I changed the Thermostat. Now the car will not start. The car was driven for two days, short distance to work, while it was running hot but I kept coolant topped off the whole time. Any help??

I meant that the engine turn's over but will not catch or run.

When you say it will not start do you mean: 1) It will not turn over at all 2) It cranks and cranks but doesn't catch

1993 Honda Accord Brake Fluid Type. What type of brake fluid is good for my 1993 Honda Accord - DOT 3 Synthetic or Mineral.

Hi,
Just use a normal DOT-3 brake fluid! Just always check the color and level of the fluid!
If it is dirty( black ) u need to drain the whole system and put in a new DOT-3 brake fluid!

My 1993 Honda accord EX , the transmission quit. auto, no gears forward or reverse.

Check the fluid level. Automatic transmissions won't go into gear without enough fluid. If it's low, you've probably got a leak somewhere that you need to find.

My 1993 Honda Accord Idles up and down in Park and neutral. I changed the idle sensor on it. What else could it be???

An intake gasket vacuum leak can cause this also. Sometimes you can isolate the problem by spraying carburetor cleaner at the head/intake mating surface while the engine is running. The fluid will cause a momentary stable idle when you find the right spot by plugging the leak. Could be a leaking vacuum hose too.

My 93 honda accord lx is over heating what do i do?

The first thing is to make sure the coolant is full, check it when the engine is cool, check radiator level, if coolant is full then check for bad thermostat, run engine and as it overheats check both hoses to make sure they are both hot, if one is hot and the other warm then you will need to replace the thermostat.if both hoses are hot then you may have a bad cooling fan or sensor, hope this is helpful.

1991 Accord: I have a 1991 honda accord ex and after the hoses ...

You may have a cracked head, block or blown head gasket that is leaking combustion gas into the cooling system. If you dont have a combution leak detector kit you can take it to a trusted mechanic tell them the problems you've had and the parts you've replaced. Ask them to check for a combustion leak in the cooling system. A minor combustion leak in the cooling system can sometimes mimic the symptoms of overheating.

What causes a 96 honda accord to run hot if the thermostat is brand new? would kit be the waterpump?

Check for a small leak in your radiator. Mine was leaking on top near the cap. Had a small crack which caused my temp to run hot.

1999 Honda Accord heater not blowing hot air

Sounds like a thermostat or cooling system issue. Change the fluid and the thermostat. It will do your engine good so it's money well spent.

Runs Hot! Need to know where Thermostat is located.

most of the time it is where the outlet radiator hose attaches to the engine.

Do you I need to replace the thermostat on my 1999 Honda Accord as a preventative measure only?

No only if you have noticed a change in engine running temperature on gauge, colder or hotter than normal.
