Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left as far as it can go, I know its locked. But there is some movement left, pull on it with some weight behind it, when you do, turn the key forward and it should unlock everything.

The ignition lock cylinder in your 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe has to be replaced if the key will insert but not turn the ignition. For older vehicles, this is a relatively common issue that is typically easy to fix. To access the ignition lock cylinder, you must first remove the steering wheel. The cylinder can be removed and the outdated one with a new one once the steering wheel has been relocated out of the way. Before restoring the steering wheel, make sure the replacement cylinder is securely fastened to prevent any additional issues.
see this steps and fix it. God bless you If the key won't turn in the ignition, it could be for a couple of
reasons:
Often this happens when the steering is locked by the ignition
lock with the front wheels turned aside (e.g. when parking on a hill) or
when one of the front wheels is pushed against something (e.g. curb
stone).
In this case, try turning the steering wheel left and right while
gently jiggling the ignition key - this might help to release the
steering lock.
Another possibility is that there is a problem with the ignition
lock or the key itself. This happens; the key and the lock mechanism
wear over time.
Try to use a spare key. If nothing works, your local dealer is the
best place to call.
The steering wheel was turned when the key was removed. So when you try to turn on the key, turn the wheel one way and the other way to release the pressure on the key. The key should turn ok.
Hope this helps.
To fix your problem, you have to turn the steering wheel either to the
left or right as much as you can, then try to turn the key in the
ignition. When the steering wheel locks, the key won't turn. By manually
holding the steering wheel out of the lock position, the key will turn
again and you're steering column will be back to normal.
A couple of guesses so if it fails you'll have to post the problem again.
1) Is there a button to release the ignition lock, sometimes on the underneath of the steering column? 2) Assuming no or you've already tried that, sometimes, if when parked, the steering wheel is turned slightly, the steering lock and the ignition lock bind. Just try rocking the steering wheel left and right, no more than 8th of a turn, while trying to turn the ignition key. May just work.

Also try holding the brake pedal down and turning the key and steering wheel at the same time
If the steering wheel lock is engaged with the wheel turned sharply in either direction - weight of the vehicle at rest on the wheels can cause the steering column and ignition key lock to bind. To get the ignition to turn and unlock, you may have to grasp and turn the wheel or wiggle it a little back and forth to get it to come off the steering lock. This will relieve the pressure and allow you to turn the ignition lock if done right.
try this..turn the steering wheel as hard as you can until it locks(any direction)then put key in ignition and holding wheel over (anyway)turn key to start car.then when you park up turn wheel over 1/2 turn to park...should work...(toyota have an antitheft steering lock)the wheel will turn when steering lock is on.rather than break lock.please do not try to see if it works....only works once...and not in handbook...
Take the steering column cover off and tap/hit the ignition barrel with suitable tool (small hammer)while twisting on key.It may be enough to loosen it so key comes out.You will have to remove steering column cover to swap with replacment barrel anyway .Get someone to turn steering wheel while tapping/hitting barrel as it could be the steering column lock pin thats jamming.good luck.
