I have a 97 Mercury Sable, and the window won't go back up. When I push the button I hear a clicking from under the dash. When I look in the fuse box, the diagram shows there is a driver's side window (switch?) relay. Could this be my problem and what would it cost to get a new one. Can I just get one at a regular automotive store?
In spite of your actual problem, you want your window up correct? Take a large rubber hammer and with the key on and the switch being help up rap the flat surface of the bottom of the door several times. I'm certain thwindow will go up. If it does, you'll need a new window regulator motor,or, a complete asembly. If it does not go up you'll have to search your fuses under the hood and inside. Also check the relays by swapping one out with a similar one (shape/ size) and if the car won't start but, the window works you'll know what you need. Thank You, Dana:)
Try reversing the switches ........if not these guides are usually made of plastic and can wear out quick
