The gear knob is an interference fit onto the gear lever. Tthis means it is just as tight as uncle scrooge. There is no thread it needs t be pulled off which takes some effort and good positioning in the back seat, care must be taken as to not knock yourself out when it comes loose, you can bet on it being that tight. To replace align knob and force it on by hitting with a rubber mallet or similar to prevent damaging new gearknob. Before you start unclip the leather boot or you will tear it. Good luck.

The center console has a Mode or Settings menu, page through the settings options and you will find all sorts of goodies the console will display.
