1996 Ford Contour battery drains, alternator and battery have been tested even replaced the fuse to the alternator.
A battery drain will not be caused by a bad fuse, its called by something draining power that you can not see. We call this a parasitic dran because just like a parasite drains your energy so does this. Its easy to test for if you have a test light. Loosen the negative battery cable and attach the aligator clip to the clamp next hold the post of the test light to the post of the battery and remove the battery cable being careful not to let it touch the test light. If you have any light thats your drain. On some fords you need to give the computers 30 minutes to power down after shutting the car off. if you want to isolate the system thats causing the drain pull and replace fuses one by one, when the light goes out you have your suspect.
You will need to do a test with a battery light disconnect the negative wire on the battery and connect one end of the test light to the battery and the other to the terminal with everything switched off if the test light is lit you have a draw if it is not lit then it is something else sometimes door switches and glove box switches wear out and need added lift to properly shut the open circuit down

Thank you both of you for your answers
I will test out your theory but as to the fuse. I replaced it because the battery did drain because it was the fuse connected to the alternator that was also causing a drain do to the fact that the alternator was not able to send power back to the vehicle so the battery had to do all the work.
Okay I did as you said youredone82 and when I connected it the light turned on and then went off right away. Can you tell me what would cause that?
Haha...found the only one to kill the light it was the ignition switch
