Getting to the convertible top hydroponic pump in a 2005 PT Cruiser.

I need to add some fluid to my convertible top pump but I would like the easiest way to get to it if I don't need to take out the back seats. I was not sure how to get the convertible top well out to get to the pump. Any easy answers?

Here's a link to the PT Cruiser forum. If you can't find what you are looking for here, I would take it to a mechanic !

SOURCE: replacing a starter in a PT. Cruiser 2001

Remove battery and battery support you'll be able to undo starter bolt's trough there and slip starter out.

Testimonial: "This didn't help, because you had to remove the engine structural collar under the starter to get at the starter bolt. It was more complicated."

SOURCE: 2005 pt cruiser. convertible top

  1. This is a common problem with the 2005 PT Cruisers, and the worst case scenario is you will have to take it to the dealership for a software upgrade.
  2. Many times, if you disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so, and then reconnect the battery, the convertible top and windows will start working again. I would try this a couple of times if the fuses are found to be good.
  3. If it still fails to work, check with the dealership to see about getting your computer reprogrammed.
  4. If all else fails, you may have a bad window switch and convertible top switch, but is unlikely that both would have gone out at the same time.

05 pt cruiser transmission just quit pulling at 30 mph. under slight acceleration. put in park and pin holds vehicle. trans full and fluid clear and red not burnt. checked plugs and all seemed pluged in....

run fault codes
indicates a torque converter clutch servo/ solenoid or TCM provlem
It will be electronic / solenoid problems and not a transmission replacement requirement

I have a 2004 PT Cruiser. Windshield washer reservoir is full but will not spray onto windshield.

the pump which is located on the outlet of the reservoir is either defective, corroded/loose electrical wiring on it or a blown fuse. Check the fuse first seeing it the easiest. Hope this helps
