2004 Alero. The electric trunk button makes a buzzing sound and stops. If you put the key in the trunk lock, the key makes a turn freely.it will not open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Remote car door opener got wet and won't work

Well first open it up completly. Remove the battery. Get a hair dryer and dry it out completly. Then let it stand for several hours to cool down. Make sure that the contacts where the battery fits are clean of any rust, or corrosion. Now install a new battery. It should work.

SOURCE: 2002 BMW 325 - key locked in trunk

There are several suggestions out there on how to retrieve BMW keys from the trunk. Many of the ways I tried failed, and it takes 2 to 3 days to get a new key made up. In the coupe there is the center piece in the back seat that folds down. Then on the back wall there is material that will fold down that is held up with Velcro. Behind that you will find a rubber insulation that is mostly cut and looks like a door, but not all the way. Carefully cut the rubber to remove the piece. Now you will find a metal wall, but there is a large piece that is tack welded on. I got turned around and kicked it with the bottom of my foot and got 3 sides loose. Then a softball bat knocked the final side loose. Pull that out and trash it, the final barrier is the insulation that is held in place with plastic clips that can just be pushed down. After that you can a pretty large hole to work through and get the keys. Just put everything back in place other than the metal plate and you will never know anything was done.

SOURCE: how to get into trunk w/o keys and trunk opener. Keys are locked in trunk and button inside car is locked.

Using your keyless entry on the keypad, press the 5 digit code to get into the door and press the 6 key immediately after. Lincoln has several codes in addition to the 5 digit keyless entry like pressing the 3 to open all the doors, the 6 for the trunk and pressing the last 2 buttons at the same time to lock the doors.

Trunk won t open on 2004 mercedes benz s500

There could be several reasons why the trunk of your 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 will not open. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the latch: Make sure the latch is not stuck or damaged. You can try lubricating the latch with penetrating oil or WD-40, or gently prying it open with a flat tool like a screwdriver.
  2. Check the trunk release button: If the trunk release button is not working, it may be due to a problem with the electrical system or a faulty trunk release switch. You can try replacing the fuse for the trunk release or checking the switch for any visible damage.
  3. Check the key: If you are using a key to unlock the trunk, make sure the key is not damaged or worn out. You may need to have the key replaced if it is no longer functioning properly.
  4. Check the trunk lock: If the trunk lock is stuck or damaged, it may be preventing the trunk from opening. You can try lubricating the lock with penetrating oil or WD-40, or have a locksmith inspect and repair the lock.
If you have tried these steps and the trunk is still not opening, it is possible that there is a problem with the trunk mechanism itself. In this case, it is recommended to have the car inspected by a mechanic. They will be able to diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.

There is no sound when I press my trunk button on my vw keys. Also the trunk is seized. I cannot turn the key to open the trunk. I would like to fix the lock. How do i do it?

the motor for the lock actuator is most likely seized. you will need to try spraying PB blaster (tm) into the lock cylinder and letting it sit for a few minutes and then try the key (I wouldn't force it) if that does not work you need to get into the trunk and disengage the lock from the actuator. and then the key should move the lock freely...

I have 97 honda accord 4 door. electric locks

Sounds like a sticking switch ( actuator ) in the door.
Pull off the door panel and , looking inside the door, follow the rod from the key to the actuator .
Clean the actuator and make sure it works freely before re assembly.

Trunk Release Button Won't Work

Any autoelectrical shop would be able to sort it. Make sure you check all of your fuses in the fuse panel. It may be that a relay is switching but the main source power isn't there.

First off all you need to do is remove the back speaker on the drivers side by undoing the two plastic clips that hold the speaker in place then stick your arm through the speaker hole and pull the strap inside the trunk to let the sits down then put the speaker back and your good to go.

Where is the release for the backseat to fold down

If your trunk release button is electric, and not working because you need to turn the key to give it power, remove the button and use a piece of wire to jump power to it from the battery. This will get your trunk open! (don't forget to have a spare key made)
