check fuse
scan the PC see the errors?
15 amp is a fair current draw and for it to blow after a few minutes means that there is a short in that circuit that is allowing a drain to earth that just exceeds the 15 amp. It is in the ignition part of the system and may be a bad connection ( water ) or a problem appearing in the ECM or relay . Run fault codes to find the area of the fault. Because it is taking time to blow the fuse, it will be difficult to find. Check all wiring for rub marks .
first check the wiper motors if there is a fault in it thats why it blows the fuses,,,unhook the wire to the drive motor and turn them on,,if fuse dont blow its the motor
According to the wiring diagram, No14 fuse is the 10Amp, which is connected in-line to the Engine Check light. It also runs to the Engine Control Module (ECM) and Anti-Theft system (if equipped).
Something in one of these circuits is triggering a malfunction.
I recommend you have the onboard Diagnostic computer scanned by your local Land Rover dealership, to extract any fault codes - this will immediately identify the faulty component/s.
If no codes are present, then the vehicle will need to go to an Auto Electrician, to locate and rectify the fault.
Click the large item that says "DOWLOAD LINK". That will give you a 570 megabyte ZIP file containing the official Land Rover service manual. It's free.
When downloaded, extracting the files, leave all files in the "rave" folder. Go to the "pdf" directory, go to "library", click on "libld", that's the Defender manual.
You can find the Electrical Manual from there. Best of luck,
This means that you have a short to ground, probably need to replace the switch, or it could be shorting out to the wiper motor.
check your ground wires, or take it to a mechanic, that is what they will most likely test and find.
You have a short in the wiring. Have you had work done to it recently? Some times there is a minute tear in the wiring installation which, when it touches metal, will ground out the wiring and blow your fuses. Take it to the dealer to a repair shop that does electrical work. They'll put it on their computer to find out where the short is.
It is fortunate that the fuses blow instead of the vehicle catching fire.
