There is an automatic choke i think this is sticking dissconect this and check car idle then.
this is 93 if there is a trottle cable then this can be ajusted i still say its the plunger on the choke look for a linkage beside the throttle i could be vacume opperated, all cars i have worked om all have automatic chokes, single point and fully injected it is all worked through the brain but plungers can and will stick.

Idling high in the skylark could be something to do with throttle control, or idle air control valve, other possibilities could be a vacuum leak or mass air flow sensor, it could also be a faulty system recently replaced. When you vehicle idles high it means it is getting more fuel than its suppose to in the fuel/air mixture, most times to much fuel in the mixture is caused by a leak or malfunction in the air delivery not allowing the appropriate amount of air in.
Vacuum leaks can be difficult to see visibly , if you took it to a shop verify if they did a smoke test on it, most shops have a smoke machine they connect to the vacuum system to verify if there are any leaks, if they have made you replace parts while they seemed to be guessing at the solution, i would certainly ask them to perform this relatively simple service for you at no charge if they have not all ready, if you are using a shop that is unable to smoke the system I would second guess your choice of mechanics.

Aside from becoming fouled, the mafs can sometimes actually go bad too. Testing testing testing....

You don't have any choke on an injected car...the coolant temp sensor tells the computer when the car has warmed up. the computer then changes modes and leans back on the fuel. except for regulation by the iac valve air supply remains pretty much a constant. with a carbureted car the choke restricts air flow and causes a rich mixture till it opens (completely opposite how injection works) Mass air flow sensor, map sensor and throttle position sensors help tell the computer what the engine is doing so timing , idle speed and fuel mixture can be adjusted.(all through the computer) some throttle position sensors have a bit of adjustment some are "locked" It won't hurt to check that.Sometimes a small vacuum leak can change idle burt most times idle becomes rough as well.

No I haven't. I haven't looked at the hose either.I will go out and do that now. I hope that something is wrong with them, because I sure am getting discouraged. Thank you and will let you know if I find something.
Just took off the mass air flow sensor and it was black with carbon. I cleaned the wires, put the sensor back on and I thought my problem was fixed until it started idling up again. The hose seems to be in good condition.
Thank you. Will check and see if gasket is okay.I truly appreciate all of your help. Will repost after I check gasket.
Do you know where the automatic choke is? If so, can you tell me? I have tried several things that were recommended to me and so far none have worked. I think that cleaning the wires on the idle air sensor did help some, but did not fix it. Thanks
Throttle body gasket is in good shape. I am about ready to junk it. Ha! Thanks
Check your throttle body gasket under nieth
Have you tried cleaning the two wires that go across the inside of the mass air flow sensor? Is the part of the intake hose in good condition that goes between the MAF and the throttle body? On securely and no holes?
