What does p1684 mean on the dash board, now my car wont start up. I have a 98 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter

p1684 just means the battery has been disconnected. Check the tightness of the battery terminals. make sure the terminals are free of corrosion..

When you say " wont start", are you saying the engine wont turn when turning the ignition key or the engine will turn over but not run?

1998 dodge intrepid won't start!

Well, you can try unplugging the battery for a few minutes and also cycling the key back and forth in the ignition to try and reset the car alarm. I'm thinking that it may need to be jump started though too if the battery is low, as it may not be turning over fast enough. Let me know how this works out for you and what worked and didn't work.

Turn signal won't work

It might be the flasher but the problem might also be the positive battery terminal. pull apart the positive terminal and clean all the connections including the small wire that make connection to it. Use dyomite electrical grease on the connections
Re assemble and then your turn indicators should work.

let me know if this helps

Spark plug change in a 1998 dodge intrepid

if you don t see any spark plug wires then your motor has coil packs(black colored boxwith 2 small electrical wires) located on top of motor 3 on one side,3 on the other.disconnect negative terminal on battery, then disconnect wire connector at each coil pack and remove 2 screws that hold down coil pack, pull gently straight up and plug is right there below coil pack
