Question about 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

I have a 2000 s500 engine just shut off by itself

I have a 2000 S500, it had 73k miles. recently after the engine start and run for about 10 - 15 minutes then the engine just automatically shut off by itself. try to restart the engine is turning but won't start. I then wait for about 15-20 minutes it will start again, and again run for 15 minutes then shut off again. Please help

You need to have car scanned for codes and it sounds like it is due for a major service

I don't have a picture, just a diagram. In the power distribution center, I see 20A fuse 3 for the automatic shut down relay and 20A fuse 5 for the fuel pump relay. No 15A fuses in the vicinity

2000 catera cold start idles rough and dies. After a few times it gets warm enough and runs smooth as silk.

Did you have battery disconnected or dead recently?

Try to place ignition in run without starting engine for 3 minutes (shut off all accessories and lights etc..). Then shut it off and then start it. Should relearn the idle.

If this doesn't fix the problem, unplug the MAF sensor, if it runs fine with it unplugged, its the MAF sensor.

Exactly what happened on my wife's 01'.

Vehicle: 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.9L, Automatic Transmission, 171,000 miles. Vehicle will stop running, just shut off, after about 10 minutes of driving. Then after 5 minutes of waiting it will start again...

the first suspect is the igniton switch. when this happens, take the ign key and just barlely turn it, either way, not enough to go off/on just a little tweak, it the lights come back on or flicker, that ign switch will need replacement.

Either relay will have to be replaced or the sensor. They usually run mabey 5 minutes top afterwards.
