Code 406 how do i replace the egr valve

trouble code 406. this indicates the EGR voltage is high! After you had the EGR valve replaced did you reset the ECU?

PO403 is a bad egr circuit & 406 is a bad egr valve. 403 may be triggering 406. Make sure the wiring is in tact with good voltage & ground connectors first. repair 406, clear codes & you may have solved both probs. Poss bad egr valve too, good luck

its basically saying change your egr valve plus to make sure i would clean ur intake passages thats where the egr goes to and if the passages get gloged then the egr valve can go bad please update the situation if eny so i can help u

The code is for the sensor for the EGR valve. The sensor is sending the computer a high voltage when it should be low.
The sensor and valve would need to be tested.

I would suggest you disconnect the vacuum hoses,plug and road test
If issues go away,replace the valve

This code is for the EGR valve, "P0406 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High", this doesn't necesarily mean you need to change your EGR valve but it's probable. Check with your dealer this just might still be covered.

yes it is..you need to replace egr valve assembly..make sure you disconnect battery while replacing..some times fault will return even after replacing valve..
