If the underneath of your transmissions and motor are really greasy and dirty. There's probably a leak from a bad gasket. I would suggest changing your trans fluid and filter (gasket comes with filter usually).
It should be on the transmission by the passenger side of car. It has three wires connected to it. 1998 Dodge Intrepid
the crank sensor is on the passenger side of the car on the back of the engine. Check right up there by the transmission housing. 1994 Dodge Intrepid 3.3 liter

two issues here. this may be a low fluid issue. i would check the level of the fluid first. the next issue could be a blown shift solenoid. these are located inside of the transmission pan.also, check the filter as well.(transmission filter could be clogged)
I don't have much info to work with here.. But I would suggest checking the fluid levels with a car on, if you're handy with tools replace the transmission filter and fluid. But It sounds like your transmission is shot and needs to be rebuilt.
The ignition switch is faulty if the gauges and dash lights will not come on, change the fuses first. Transmission fluid and filter change needed. Differential gear oil change also needed.
