You do not need to "calibrate the computer" when changing the trans. range sensor. If the dealer is telling you this, it is because they want more of your money. Just buy the sensor.

actually the proper procedure does require you to "reinitialize" the transmission control module, you may be able to get it done without doing that but it will shift hard and don't know how long it will actually take to learn on it's own, maybe disconnect the battery for several minutes might help.

The transmission range sensor on my Suzuki Forenza was going out so we replaced the sensor, however my car is still jumping in and out of limp mode. How can this be fixed?

So, there is a little hole that the screw fell into, behind one of the belt wheels, to the left of the normal screw hole. How in the world do I get that out?

Where is the transmission range sensor for 2006 suzuki forenza located

Right on the transmission, to the right side of the engine bay as you are looking down on it. It is a black plastic part that is bolted on the transmission with two 10mm bolts, and connected to the transmission with rod and clip. It is partially obstructed by the radiator hose, but otherwise really easy to get to.

Transmission sensor problem

there is a transmission sensor on the transmission block, you can see it under the hood on the drivers side right under the waterhose and its called neutral safety switch.when the sensor fails the engene light comes on and the D on the transmission slips. if you want to fix it yourself is very easy if you have some mechanic skills. first disconect the waterhose if you donot want to have any problems later, there are two screws holding the sensor and one nut in the middle, unplug the harness, remove the sensor, get the sensor at the dealership ,plug in the new sensor to the harness and set it to neutral by watching the car gears on dash, set the trany pin to neutral, the teeth on the sensor will find the way in easely by doing this, reconect everything, reset the car computer by disconecting the battery ground cable and stepping on the break pedal a few times for at least one minute, reconect the battery cable and you are done! iam not a mechanic,i just have some mechanic skills and thats how i fixed my suzuki forenza 2007 myself.
