I have a 2005 chevy impala. My key wont turn at all when in the ignition. I tried my wife key and the same problem it wont turn at all. I had my car for two years this is the frist time this happen to me. Can anyone please tell me what can I do to fix this.
If it doesnt turn you have a worn out ignition cylinder, the only fix is to replace it, Code the ignition lock cylinder, if necessary
CAUTION:Perform the body control module (BCM) theft deterrent relearn procedure whenever you replace the ignition switch lock cylinder.
Someone may have tried to steal the car and damaged the lock's internal pins. Replace the entire lock with new.
Try turning the steering wheel hard in each direction when turning the key. If there is too much pressure on the steering wheel lock the ignition will jam.

you may need to replace ignition lock. could be bad tumblers in lock or couls be a problem with steering column
Bend over and get ready to take it. I had to pay about $600 to have it repaired, not counting $32 for towing.
