Nov 27, 2007 - Can anyone please help me obtain a fuse panel diagram for 98 Jetta(A3)? ... 98 Jetta TDI have no power to fuse 18 says it controls the fuel ...
Many cig lighters have inline fuses. The fuse is part of the wire going from the lighter to the power source. It typically looks like a small white tube and can be opened by gently twisting and the pulling apart. Before you do that are you sure its' the fuse? The coil in lighters frequently burn out. Try a lighter from a similar car or plug in a cell phone charger to see if your getting power to the lighter housing. If you have power you can get a replacement lighter at most auto parts stores for a couple of bucks.
You need a dc current test light to see if it is getting current, or plug in a cell phone charger to see if you are getting current. Our it could be the the lighter insert, a burnt out element and not the socket.
I had this same problem you have to get to three fuses above the relays, which is above the first set of fuses on the drivers side.it's the 15amp fuse on top
It's a 15 amp (blue) fuze located above the relays on the fuse box. You need to remove the plastic fuse housing under the dash (two screws) and unclip the fuse tray and drop it down. The clips are white and are on the sides of the fuse tray, they just snap and swing back. Once you drop the fuse tray you will see several fuses above the relays. The blue one goes to the cigarette lighter. What a pain.
