It could be a number of things. the first to check would be to see if your check engine light is on. that would indicate a bad sensor. if this is the case, i would think maybe a throttle position sensor, or map sensor. but if the light is on, have someone use a scanner to get the trouble code. most auto stores will scan it for you at no charge. if there are no codes, and no check engine light, the next thing I would do is replace the fuel filter. if it get clogged it will restrict fuel flow to the engine. finally if that doesnt help, then have the fuel pressure tested. you may have a weak fuel pump. if the fuel pressure checks out ok, then I would have a technician look at it for a diagnosis. if none of these things helps then you have a much deeper problem with the computer or wiring that only good shops have the equipment to diagnose and fix. theyre awesome cars though. I used to have one. good luck!

Hi my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse has started to lose power while driving when the heater, defrost on. Could be it A/C compressor? Losing power while driving is unsettling. Any ideas let me know. BG

Could be many things. You may be noticing the loss of power, when the compressor is on. However, you could have a fuel issue. Such as, dirty fuel filter, or bad fuel pump. I believe the fuel filter is also part of the fuel pump assembly on that car. Good luck.

I have a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse spider that is getting no fuel. If I hold a rag soaked with gas at the throTtle body it will crank and run. Where should I start

Check power to the fuel pump, if you have power and ground then you have a bad pump. Also check for a plugged fuel filter

Cuts out at 4000 rpm in neutral and bogs while driving

repair or, replace the MAP flap switch on your engine's intake tube this switch measures the air volume admitted into the engine so that the engine computer can adjust timing and, fuel injector speed.
