2001 Ford windstar stalling problems. After

2001 Ford Windstar PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is located behind the dash panel on the passenger side. The harness is accessed from under the hood. The PCM is accessible from the floorboard.
You can have it out in less than 15 minutes with minimal effort.

You need a bypass kit from Ford. Otherwise just disconnecting the harness will not allow the car to start.

Check the MAF sensor. Take it out and clean it or replace if need be. Good luck

Check top rad hose for heat. When enging has been running for 10-15 minutes, shut off engine and feel top rad hose. It should be very warm if not hot to the touch. If it is not hot, Change thermostat. It is located under housing that top rad hose mounts to on engine. You can get a eplacement at any auto parts store. Get a failsafe one. If it fails it does so in the off position only and will not cause overheating problems if it fails.
If rad hose is hot it is a problem with your heater, possibly plugged

I have same van (2001) a relative give me. My uncle (orig owner) have a recall card from ford for SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM MODIFICATION..maybe this is the problem. my van is doing the same thing like yours...no codes.. but sometimes the odometer wont go higher than 35mph...

It's best to have your shop put it on a scanner and see what codes it's throwing. This can be several problems. I have seen fuel pumps work intermittent and I've seen them go out after filling up. your case may be ignition problem or could be coil packs going bad. put a OBD II code reader on it see if it has stored any codes if not replace the TPS sensor and the MAF sensor do the replacements at different times so you don't buy one or the other for nothing

You most likely have a 3.8 liter motor. You need to have a obd-2 diagnostic performed. Pep boys, Autozone, Aamco etc. can do this. (Ford also, but costly). If cam sensor failing, code will be stored in e.c.m, and data stream will prove out. The cam sensor failure is common on fords and they are usally available aftermarket (save a few dollars over O.E.M.) . If there is another problem, the diagnostic will help determine. Windstars are also prone to fuel pump failures and ignition switch problems.
