Reverse lights dont work. bulbs are new fuse is good and got the power going to the socket

  • Anonymous Sep 09, 2009

i am getting 12 volts and they are new bulbs

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

If you have 12 volts at the lamp socket, the only conclsion I could reach is the socket contacts for the bulb are dirty/corroded. Do you see 12 volts across these contacts or, are you getting 12 volts from center contact to ground? Charlie

Check the socket ground wire connection--it may be loose or badly corroded. Remove the connection, scrape any rust away--rub the bare area with grease, then place a 'star' washer next to the metal, add the wire connector, then the nut.

You didn't mention if your Neon has a manual or auto tranny but either of these must have a switch in them to turn on the back-up lights. Check a service manual at a local library or buy the Haynes service manual to have on hand for the next problem.

Hyundai tuscon 05. Reverse light doesnt work, bulb fine ,fuse are good and new switch installed. What next?

Does bulb socket have a ground wire, or just uses mounting point as ground? Check for voltage at each part of system. Start with fuse, then switch both in and out of reverse, then bulb.

Tail light dont work

could be a dirty socket not allowing good contact for the bulb. or you have a bad connection with one of the wires in the back of the socket.

Reverse light dont work

No they should only come on when you put in reverse or else everyone would think you were backing up! its your bulb if just one, the fuse if both or the reverse switch indicator... Good Luck

Back up lights dont work, check fuse, bulbs and replace nutrue safty switch. stiil dont work.

check circuit board at lights and grounds, it is best to use a Power Probe to test as you can apply power or ground at the lights to verify problem.

1988 pathfinder no dash lights no revers lights no tail lights no gaiges

If they all stopped working at the same time then it is probably a fuse or possibly 2. Check your fuse panels in the dash and under the hood. The dash lights and gauges should be a fuse labeled instrument cluster or guages, it is probably blown. The other fuse to look for will be the tail light fuse. This is where I would begin.

Brake lights will not work.

check all your fuses if fuses are good check brake lite bulbs see if they are blown. if bulbs are good get a test lite see if you have power to the bulb sockets have friend apply brake pedal you test power going into bulb socket if you have no power brake lite switch behind brake pedal could be burnt out. p.s dont forget to check all fese relays when checking your fuses.

Lights prob

the sockets should ONLY have power when in reverse. if they have power when not in reverse, you have a bad wire connection somewhere. the cheapest way to go is to buy brand new bulbs if you haven't already. they are only about $2.
