You will need to remove the caliper and rotor, remove the bolts on the backside of the bearing hub and the axle nut in the canter of the hub. Once the hub has been removed, pull the axle through the hole where the hub was. Install is reverse of that. Best if you remove the axle nut before you begin. It is very tight and generally requires that you use a breaker bar and pipe on handle to get it free. (about 175 foot pounds torque)
Any problems along the way, just ask.
good luck

How much will it cost me for a mechanic to replace afront constant velocity joint gaiter for a 2002 Hyundai accent

This depends on 1) how much the mechanic charges per hour,
2) whether they use the "flat rate book",
3) whether they charge for shop supplies, etc.,
4) who knows what else.
The cheapest you might get the labor might be about $50, and it could go up to $200.
The cheapest you might get the part is about $ 50 new, and it could go up to $200.
If you are in a big city, it might even be higher. :-(

Hi, on my subaru legacy, when I turn the car to the left hand side there is a little rumble going on on the right wheel, what can it be? steering wheel liquid?

It's the Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) on the front offside wheel. Will either need re-greasing (short term fix) or replacing.
Check that the surrounding boot (on inside of wheel) has not split allowing grease to escape

There is a continuous clicking sound, when the car is moving, coming from the front-right wheel area. it sounds like it could be the front wheel bearings?

It is most likely a torn boot that covers the constant velocity joint on the front drive axle. This can be verified by looking behind the wheel and visually inspect the axle boot that is mounted directly to the axle. If it is torn, you will also see grease that has spread around the underside of the vehicle. There is also another boot on the transmission side too, check that one also.

My car steers tires sakes when i accelerate

Have your drive axles constant velocity joints checked out. Look at the boots covering the cv joints. If they are split your joint is gone. If there is any play in the cv joint they need to be replaced.

We are having a knocking sound when turning. You can hear it and feel it. What can be done to solve this?

drive shaft universal coupling is worn a little in the edges of the cups where the ball bearings are ,no soloution just renew ,honest advice -- it will run like this for years ,when the rubber gaiters split then renew the shaft for an exchange unit other than that leave it alone What i often do when i have a gaiter change as its a annual test failure here ,i remove the constant velocity (coupling) take the balls out wash it out in diesel and rebuild it with new grease and new gaiter and more often than not the noise stops for a while ,but its not dangerous just a pain in the you know where when you have passengers who think the wheel is going to fall off

hi the broken gaiter/boot could be a problem normally these are full of lubricating grease as they have ball bearings in side, this is called a CV joint, or constant velocity joint, when the bearings get dry they make more of a clicking noise more than a cracking noise, but it would be advisable to get the gaiter repaired/replaced, the noise you may be hearing could be a track rod end or a ball joint, when these are worn they tend to move in directions they are not made to do, ie sideways motion, also, the spring caps can also make this noise if one of the springs have come out of their seat and as you turn one way it tries to pop back in but when you turn the other way it pops out again, you could have a friend turn the steering wheel for you to test this, best way to test this would be to just turn the wheel without the engine running so to put as much strain on the front as possible, to test if the ball joint/track rod end has worn, is to jack each side up and pull the bottom of the wheel and push the top in a shaking motion any movement will show where it is coming from track rod end or ball joint...hope this helps

Hi, I just did my MOT and servicing, my car failed the MOT because the CV gaiter split. Had it replaced and my car passed the MOT.. But then when I drove it back home, I smell burning rubber coming from my...

Not likely unless the CV gaiter (we call it a boot on this side of the pond) is really rubbing hard against something or is in contact with part of the exhaust system. When you had the gaiter replaced could they have left bits of the old one on the engine block or exhaust system. I'd look elsewhere for the cause of the burning smell.
