Won't stay running.

The car will start and run for a little bit before it dies. The length of time before it dies varies, but it will not stay running. Sometimes it's a few feet from where it was parked, and sometimes it's down the street. We're not sure if it's the fuel filter or possibly the computer.

IT MAY HAVE A BAD CRANK POSITION SENSOR OR A POOR CONNECTION SOMEWHERE ON THE IGNITION MODULE/COILS. HAVE IT LOOKED AT BY A REPUTABLE MECHANIC WHO CAN SCAN THE COMPUTER FOR DIAGNOSTIC CODES. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR ANY COMMENTS YOU WISH TO POST, BEST OF LUCK. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

My Audi will start, run for varied lengths of time then die immediately without any sputtering. Could it be a sensor? Thanks

have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for pump--pressure regulator and filter problems. Run fault codes to check for air flow sensor faults.

Are you sure you have the plug wires on right, and the point gap is right ? I am assuming you have checked the carb and ruled out a fuel problem.
