I bought an old Jeep Cherokee Country and the driver's seat belt latch is broken into pieces. Can I just put a new latch on somehow? The tongue is fine.
Can you tell me how to do it? Do I cut the fabric somehow and restitch or do I have to do the whole thing? Can you tell me how to do it? Do I cut the fabric somehow and restitch or do I have to do the whole thing?

frozen or broken. try a good whack on front on hood while someone pulls latch, see if you can free it up. no luck? try pounding at driver's side near the windshield while someone pulls latch. no luck? You can crawl under front with a screwdriver and reach up and try to release the latch manually. push the little lever the cable attaches to over towards driver's side. good luck. When open, see if cable operates latch: if good spray it liberally with penetrant. If your cable is broken, just get a new one or visit a salvage yard. The hood latch can be adjusted a small amount.
There are 3 cables under the driver's seat.
1) 1 (single wire) goes to the illumination light of the transfer case position plastic lense panel (underside)
2) 1 (single wire) goes to the seat belt harness for the seat belt warning light
3) 1 (multi-wire) goes to air bag sensor located directly under the seat.
Your welcome :-)

Do a google search on auto salvage.. Many of them all over the country are online now and thre are lots of them.. if you find a mach for your make modle & year, you are getting warm.. If they have that jeep - they can ship the part to you..
pull the electric fan out, then loosen the belt at the idler pulley. note where the old belt runs as you pull it off then put the new one on, I like to start by looping the belt around the alternator first an working from there.
Hi
There is a switch in the seat belt latch whe your sitting in the seat this will ba the part o the right side, see if something went into the latch part? or the switch is bad i think you have to replace the belt to fix the switch
