No, not unless the player is a CD/DVD player. DVDs run for movie formats not CDs that can have pdf, word, etc....documents.

SOURCE: YUKON CD PLAYER NO SOUND!

Is your IP Bus cable on the INPUT and not the OUTPUT ? I know it sounds funny, but usually(95%), that's the case. If it's in the wrong plug, you'll have power and a display, but no audio. That's why your getting data but no audio.

Cd player does not work,no sound

May be discs is put in wrongly, the VCD.
Car CD put VCD is not sound and reading is normal, because the CD and VCD is a format for encoding, VCD containing video data flow without the corresponding chip can't decode so silent.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer with DVD Entertainment System that will not read disk

The data on the DVD map disc ages at a rate of 15-20% per year. As the data ages, the functionality of the navigation system declines. Offering GM customers new navigation DVDs will ensure that the customers have the latest information for their system.

General Motors offered a Navigation Disc Update Program for alot model year vehicles. This program concluded on December 31, 2009. The DVD Navigation Update Program policy has changed and customers are no longer eligible for free annual updates, however, a navigation DVD update disc can be purchased for $199 (USD) + shipping.

If the navigation disc is needed for a warranty situation, the disc can be purchased for $120 (USD). The dealer must provide a VIN and RO# XXXXX qualify for the reduced price. The dealer must call the GM Navigation Disc Center, as this option is not available on the website.

The GM Navigation Disc Center launched on March 15, 2006. There are two ways to obtain an updated disc:
* Via the web through gmnavdisc.com
* GM Navigation Disc Center 1-877-628-3472

Technical Service Bulletins are sometimes generated to address specific navigation radio operational or performance issues. When a navigation radio bulletin is issued, it may contain instructions to utilize an advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update with a specific part number. GM dealers must order advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update discs as directed in the specific bulletin.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Have 2002 town and country, the dvd player has issues, when i put a dvd in it the little light flashes and then reads error, will do that to about 20 to 25 disc then will play one. not good when i have 3...

There really isn't anything you can do yourself, other than cleaning the lens using a cd/DVD player lens cleaning disk. Also check that the disks you are using are clean and free of scratches. If the player still doesn't work right, you will have to get it serviced at the dealer. Some electronics repair shops will also service these players, but you will have to remove it from the vehicle yourself. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My dvd player and cd player won't work. The dvd

yes , I think your are somewhat right. It is possible that your DVD has encountered some fault which issues the error. You will need to remove the player and take it out. check if the mecchanism is half stuck or if any action of the drive is mid way resulting in the mode not ccoming to the final rest. This is giving the faulty of the error. see all the link drives, the loading mechanism . use a head cleaner to wipe the optical head. if the cd does not load check on the main board for supply failure of the main drive. since the dvd is not acting you have the amp cutting off the rear/surrround. The error can be even an electronic one. check for the failure of the drive IC . failure in the sub power. Hope this helps.Good day.

2003 Denali Navigation system working sometimes but most of the time I can hear the disc spinning but it displays "reading disc" And does not get past that. Also the CD player 6 disc will do the same...

I have run into this trouble before.

Here's my suggestion,
Take it in to your GM Dealer, there maybe a couple of options depending on what has been done so far.

If They can not get the disc out & depending on the DVD/Cd player-NAV's part no. The Dealer may be able to Update the Software allowing the disc to be ejected properly.

Or the player will need to be pulled out and sent to an autherize repair center.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Cd player wont accept CD

The bottom line here is the CD player will have to come out for repair, there is no service info or parts that the dealer tech (me) or the consumer can get access to, only the GM repair facility has parts and technical information. I suggest you pull the deck and take it to the repair station or ship it there, if you go through the dealer they will 2X the price for the repair because they send it out as well.
