Replace diesel filter and prime the hand pump until full.Then start.Check wires that are connected to the fuel pump. Check power supply to glow plugs including the glow plug relay.

I would suggest to have the pump timing reset and probably have a diesel specialist to check the pump as well. It is very difficult to give extra help over the net as most of the things have been covered by the mechanic I supposed. But as per your description I think the pump may have not been timed properly or it may need overhauling as well.

Solution #1 is not correct.. reason, why engine does not start when those codes are shown, is pump control unit (PCU), or electromagnetic valve. You should give PCU to fix (mostly it's broken transistor inside) or to change you current PCU to the new (need to be programed) or buy whole new VP44 PSG5 pump.
