Was the truck already a 4 wheel drive. What size motor did you put in it. If you put in a 454 Motor in it you can use one out of a 91 454 or you can use one out of a diesel truck around that year model. Most of these are interchangeable as long as it is a big block motor.

Tranfer case stuck in neutral will not shift into gear on my 2000 chevy silverado makes grind noise when put back to park

The grinding is the transmission, this is normal because the transmission is turn when you put it in park. Don't do it to much. Most likely the motor on the transfer case has died. Check the plug first, Clean any corrosion then retry. You can remove the motor and put the case in 2hi until you replace the part or have it checked out.

I have automatic 2001 Ford Explorer sport trac bought from USA, the car did not run since i received it because it does not move when i put the level to D nor R position.

What you can try is to start the vehicle, put it in Neutral, press on the brake, and while doing that press the 4x4 Button and hold it for 5 seconds. If this does not help, you will need an Owners Manual for Year specific information.

You want to reset your Transfer case from being towed to Run. It sounds like your unit was switched to the current Mode for transit. Another idea is to contact the Tow company who delivered it for advice on this setting. Even if you used a Tow dolly yourself, I imagine the towtruck drivers would need to know how to switch this setting when they tow an Explorer themselves.

This Tow mode is used to enable towing the SUV behind a Motorhome. The Automatic transmissions need lubricant on the seals or they will burn up. The Tow mode disengages the Transfer case and keeps some of the parts from turning. You need to look at Year specific information because of the difference in Automatic transmissions. For a short time, there were engine options which included a different transmission for better mileage with bigger engines.

The older models needed a Tow dolly and the newer models can just use a Tow bar on the frame.
I hope my opening statement fixed your problem. Should you want to Tow your SUV behind another vehicle, you will need to use the Tow feature.

2002 chey trailblazer 4by4 light on the swich stay on 2 wheel drive if i put into 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive and one light flash on where ever i put the swich on. feels like is goes in 4 wheel high...

The Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) in this model year have been known to hang up, try pulling fuse #48 (4WD) in the rear fuse panel located under the left rear seat. Reinstall fuse and see if everything works OK, if not, you probably need to replace the TCCM.

Can I flat-tow a new 2010 Suzuki Sierra Jimny 4WD ( i.e.on an A-Bar behind a motor home). Will flat-towing effect my new-car warranty? How do I set up the gears and transfer case for flat-towing? Thanks...

if it is 4wd with an automatic trans and you can put the transfer case in neutral it is ok to tow, any models with a manual trans. are ok to tow also

1994 chey astro.if i take the right arm off the blade works but when i put the left arm back on the blades go up but won't go back down.

Hi! There may be a problem on your wiper motor. The wiper motor may be weak thats why it doesnt have enough power to pull it down. Try replacing the wiper blades too for it may be worn and could be causing the motor to be forced too much.
