If it's a straight shift, check the button on the clutch pedal. There may be on for the brake too. These will disengage the cruise when you press the pedal. If they arent operating properly, it could prevent the cruise from even working.

Remove the top plastic engine cover- 4 small bolts
inspect throttle assembly. There should be a container ring/wall so the cruise cable cant jump out of the thing-sideways
if that's broken -there is your problem. It has been a common problem

SOURCE: Driver side door won't lock electronically

very common problem is the door lock actuator. i would recommend replace that. a good idea also would be to remove the door panel and check all the rods that connect to the assembly and make sure one didnt pop off.

Testimonial: "I figured it out before i got the answer, but you were right, it was the actuator for sure, i replaced it and it worked just fine. thank you!"

My 1998 acura cl 2.3 horn stopped working. Its not the fuse. You can still hear it clicking when you press the steering wheel?

There's a good chance that it;s the relay.
If you open the hood and have someone press the horn switch/ steering wheel while you listen under the hood,you should be able to determine which solenoid it is. A voltage meter will let you check the function.
Don't know if the door light is related. Unlikely.

2007 Taurus cruise not working

This is just a guess and they can keep my point if I'm wrong :) but I would start looking around the cruise unit itself under the hood for loose plugs or, in some cases loose vacuum hoses. Some cruise units use engine vacuum for unit actuation, some use it as an indicator of engine speed though now it's mostly sensors and servo actuators operated by computer. I can't speak directly about your unit but sometimes, in all brands of vehicles, when you change something that is computer controlled, you have to reprogram the computer so it can accurately sense and operate the part or machine. Good luck. Jeff M.

Cruise control doesn't work in 2010 pontiac g5

Tricky. If you're unfamiliar with the operation of GM cruise control systems, refer to a qualified GM technician.
Things you can try:
  1. Lubricate the actuator switch;
  2. Lubricate the brake switch (yes, the brake switch is in the circuit);
  3. Lubricate all actuator switches for the cruise control system at the steering wheel;
  4. Check for vacuum leaks, damaged vacuum lines, or other visible problems around the cruise control servo (under the hood).
  5. If your vehicle is equipped with a TRIP COMPUTER, and the trip computer is not updating mileage, replace the SPEED SENSOR.

Is their a fuse for the cruise control and if their is where is it ? when i turn it on nothing not even a light on the dash

There is fuse but it is a shared fuse called the "meter" fuse. If that was the problem then your turn/hazard lights and instrument cluster would not be working either. Could have a problem with the main switch or clockspring which allows signals to go thru moving contacts of steering wheel. Check to make sure the Cruise control actuator electrical connector up under the hood has not come loose or been left disconnected fromo prior repair.

2007 Avalanche cruise control doesn't work even though the steering wheel switch is lit. Fuse is not blown and backup camera works.

i just had the same problem, it started after having to get a "jump start" for a low battery. after checking the fuse(under the hood #43) I disconnected the battery for about 60 seconds to let the computers reset. works fine now. don't know the original cause of the low battery, or the fault but don't want to pay the dealer service charge for doing the same thing...hope this helps ..billy

I have a 1998 Acura 3.0 cl and the brake lights are not working even after replacing a few bulbs that were blown. The cruise control is not working as well.

Check all fuses first. If they are good, go under dash and check brake switch. Remove electrical connector, Attach ohmmeter to both terminals. Should have infinite resistance. Depress plunger. Should have no resistance. If you have trouble with the meter, buy one that beeps when there is continuity
