Problem bad hesitation when cold

I have a 1997 Chevy ½ ton 4x4 with 500k 5.0 vortec

Problem bad hesitation when cold when you step on the gas as it warms up the hesitation is less but still there. It uses a lot of gas, it start and idles fine. Failed just about everything on an etest expt the gas cap.

What I have done plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cleaned the inside the intake and the throttle body, replaced the Cat, had it on the computer and bank one good (oxygen sensor) bank 2 was good but one oxygen sensor was not fluctuating (that is why I change the cat as well as well as the readings from the Etest). I also cleaned the inlets on the oxygen sensors.
I have another etest scheduled now that I have change the cat.
Any thoughts would help
Pete

You should change all 4 O2 sensors, it will run better :)

Also check your compression. Not enough compression on any one cylinder will cause oil blow-by and cause it to fail emissions. Also, the EGR valve can cause the same symptoms.

My Guess would be Pump bad...loosing line pressure when warm and fluid is thinner. possible sticky valve, I would try SEAFOAM TRANS TUNE in it, it frees up sticking vavles, Its great stuff and for $8.00 it's worth a try, otherwise..hate to say it but you might be looking at pulling trans and doing a pump change .

I own a 96 chevy k1500 5.7 l vortec and have a no 5 cyl misfire

It could be a faulty fuel injector, try running a fuel injector cleaner through your fuel system. At worst the poppet nozzle has gone bad and will need to be replaced, you can buy the poppet nozzle it self individually at Auto Zone or buy upgrade MFI system which is much better and less pron to fuel leaking room a cracked poppet line or nozzle which will cause what you have described.

We have a 2003 chevy suburban 5.3 vortec it dies when warmed up

Sounds like either Air mass sensor, Air mass meter or finally the EGR valve this is the exhaust gas recycler I would say that is the fault when they start to go this is what they do until finally the car will barely move.

Also I would check all your air pipes for leaks make sure there is no rips or tears in the pipes, The car will drive fine like you say until you ease of the gas to a stop position it **** in to much air and kills the engine. Air faults are cheaper so look there first.

Hope this helps

Recheck the spark plug gap - these so called pre-gapped plugs are not always correct, also check the primary and secondary resistance on your coil.
