I have just rebuilt the B230F in my 1987 Volvo 240 DL wagon and cant get it to start i have removed the head again and tried the breaker bar on the crank and it still wont move before the rebuild it was running good but just started with a knock so i replaced pistons connecting rods rings and connecting rod bearings not sure what the problem is.
It has happened to me that, when ordering parts, i was given .025 oversized bearings after ordering standards. take it back apart, and double check the bearing marks. if they are what you ordered, use some micrometers or plastigage, and get the correct set.
You have apparently purchased the WRONG size of "Big End" bearings for this crank, and on Torquing down, has BOUND UP the Bearind Caps onto the crankshaft. .
Tear down the Bottom end, and using a MICROMETER this time, MEASURE THE SIZE of the CRANK Journals. You should expect to find the readings to be NO MORE than .001 to .003 thou. difference overall.
As you went that far originally, I am surprised that you did not replace the Main Bearings also.
But, go back to the beginning, and CHECK EVERYTHING AGAIN.
Regards, DT
