Try this -make sure battery is good and fully charged, then TURN KEY ON (DONT CRANK) AND LEAVE ON FOR ABOUT 10-20 MINUTES. TURN KEY OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND THEN TURN ON AGAIN FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND THEN TURN KEY OFF AGAIN. NOW TRY CRANKING ENGINE--- IM GOING ON MEMORY/MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF THE OWNERS MANUAL IN FRONT OF ME. IF U HAVE THE MANUAL LOOK IN THE INDEX UNDER SECURITY LIGHT OR ANTI-THEFT FOR RESET PROCEDURE. get back to me if you need more help.

How do I reset the anit-theft system on the vehicle?

your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.

2003 AVALANCHE WON'T START CRANK BUT NOT START

if your fuel pumps not kicking on try looking under the hood in the fuse box for relays there black boxes 1in by 1in and have some one get in the car and turn the switch on and off while u hold each one if it clicks when the key is turned its good and if not swap it for one that does to rule out the fact that it might be a relay that requires the car to be running to come on

2001 jaguar s-type won't crank battery new and charged. Turn the ignition car won't make a sound

many things will cause no start problems could have faulty ignition switch.use test light see if power going to starter if not check ignition fuse to starter.if power going to starter, more likely starter solenoid or starter faulty.if ignition fuse okay and starter and solenoid okay still no start problem could be in the ignition switch or inhibitor switch faulty.code scan for faulty theft security system which will also cause no start conditions.

Vehicle will not start. Had the fuel pump replaced at a dealer about two years ago. the last time it would'nt start I took it to a garage close to my house and they told me the fuel pump needed to be...

you could be getting air in the fuel system lines, sometimes caused by heat , but most the time its caused by a tiny leak in the fuel system itself, on the end of the rail that leads to the fuel injectors there is a bolt head, loosen it as someone else turns the key to the on position, if the pump is working correctly you should have fuel blasting out of that loosened bolt, if not, you have a pump problem, if it does, then you have an other problem, if the car turns over but won't start , you need to check for spark on the plugs, ( thats the easiest way ) you can see how to do that in this video along with some other things to check , watch the part about spark plugs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=064Ilsz8Fzg&feature=related

Replaced ignition switch in 1999 chevy cavaliar rs, anti-theft light comes on and stays on and won't allow car to start and remain on or run

You have to do a relearn procedure on the anti-theft system:

Attempt to start the vehicle. Leave the ignition on until the THEFT SYSTEM indicator turns off (about 10 minutes). Turn the ignition switch off. Leave the ignition switch off with key in for about 10 minutes. Attempt to start vehicle.

My 2002 ford taurus won't start unless i turn key 4 to 7 times

there is also a device called a transponder, it is AROUND the ignition switch and this is the part that reads your key code. thim might be your problem, hope this helps and good luck- P.S. i hope you didn't end up paying for the "repairs" that the mechanics made as they oviously havn't fixed the problem and probably were not correctly diagnosed.

Can you bypass theft system

No, I think he has the same problem I do. I have a stock 99 malibu...no real theft system. Usually after it rains or gets cold, a "theft system" light comes on in my dash. I can be driving, and the light will come on. If I turn the car off, I cannot restart the vehicle till about 20 minutes have passed and the light finally goes off. Sometimes this light comes on when I try to start the car in the morning. I put the key in the ignition, and the car will not start for 20 minutes till the darn theft system light goes off. From what I gathered, the theft system issue has something to do with a "passlock II" defect. I have no idea what this is, all I know is that I can't get a mechanic to listen to me, because the issue never repeats itself when I go to a garage. It gets a little annoying, but I've learned to deal with it.
