I have 2005 Kia Sportage with a check engine light. No other symptoms. I was told by Kia and Local mechanic that it is the fuel injectors. Error Code states that Fuel injectors are running lean. Put Master airflow- no change. Ran engine test with propane to run rich and trim never changed from 15. Car runs great. Kia dealer said that this is because we use Ethel in gas that it effects the alumium fuel rail delivery to the injectors and that it is necessary to change all of them .Kia Dealer wants $1,000.00 deposit to place order 6 fuel injectors from Kia. (Has anyone heard of that?)Also put fuel injector cleaner in tank.Does anyone have any suggestions before I spend over $1,000.00 to replace all 6 injectors or possible idea of what could be wrong?

Sounds like a possible vacuum leak, which may be present only when cold due to expansion of parts as the engine warms up. Use starting fluid to spray around vacuum lines and intake gaskets, as well as around intake mounted sensors while the engine is cold and running. If engine speed increases at any time, you have found the leak. Re test to confirm then repair the leak. Also test the IAC (idle air control) for propper operation. It is on top of and in the center of the engine compartment, mounted on the intake tube.

2003 kia Sedona at a cold start the rpm runs very high and it will take over 2 minutes before its slowly starts to drop.

TPS, IAC, EGR, MAF, MAP. all sensors all having to do with the way the car starts and runs. Does it idle fine after warm up or does the idle jump up and down, or does it go so low sometimes, you think it's going to die on you? I'd look at the TPS and IAC 1st. Go to autozone or advanced auto parts and have then plug the OBD II code reader into your ECU and see if they can pull a code.

It could be a combination of 2 things. A faulty MAP sensor itself or a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). It's not uncommon for a bad TPS to idle when the motor is cold but once warm, not idle fast enough to keep the vehicle running.

Want to know what a code PO171 means(system too lean bank1).car idles rough and blows black smoke when you rev it up.and is also misfiring.?

If the car is thinking its lean, but its blowing black smoke then it sounds like its confused. Sounds like the o2 sensor is bad. How does it run when its cold?

If there is spark and the sensor is in position and secure. There is a cold idle valve beneath the throttle body. It should repeatedly click as it actuates on and off.. Theory is it creates a controlled vacuum leak until the engine can carry ttself once warmed up.. Good Luck

Check PCV valve and be sure it is not stuck open.  Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold.

1997 jeep grand cherokee runs rich after long trips

Could have a bad map sensor. The Map sensor is located on the throttle body. I have seen countless Jepp that start blowing black smoke when they go bad. That would be a good starting place.
