I changed the thermostat and flushed the system and its a little better, but when I pop the hood after driving it I can hear the cap hissing and the upper hose is hard as a rockI just bought it 6 months ago, it had a yellowish anti-freeze is that normal. I know theres red , and green antifreeze. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have a bad head gasket or a water pump that's not circulating. remove the radiator cap with the truck cold start engine and watch the coolant one for circulation should see coolant moving thru cap second look for air bubbles in coolant if it has a lot of bubbles or sounds like a coffe pot then its a head gasket

Hmm sounds like you might have a leak into the cooling system such as a seeping head gasket.
Have a local garage do a leak test, and if they have the tools a coolant dye test, which will test for combustion gases in the cooling system.
