Gas guage is not working

My gas guage, on a 93, chevy blazer is not working. rested on full. I just had my fuel pump replaced because car was not starting either. Should a new fuel pump replacement have fixed the fuel gauge problem and should the service tech have noticed?

If there is gas in the tank and it is not registering correctly, then the sending unit or power to sending unit is bad.

Gas Guage bouncing strong gas smell before 1998 Chevy Blazer wouldn't start at all. Engine still turns over

Check your fuel pressure, if low or no pressure, replace fuel filter first. My guess is the fuel pump and sensor are bad. You may also want to see if your getting spark, but I don't think bad plugs would make has gage jump around, but if they are not sparking correctly they will allow gas to flood the motor and that's when you get the gas smell

There is no reset for that and to replace the fuel guage you have to change the fuel pump, now there is another way where you can clean the guage reader (patanchio) meter with a pensil eraser and it will work.

Why does the gas guage not register how much gas is in the tank of our 2001 Chevy Impala?

This could be due to a faulty fuel sensor in the fuel tank try draining the fuel tank and replacing the sensor.

2001 chevy impala gas gage does not work right

sokol520--Sounds like fuel pump/fuel guage sending unit. They are integrated and located inside the fuel tank, most likely.

2002 chevy blazer fuel pump (4 door)

yes you have to drop the tank. you will also need a fuel line tool to unhook the fuel lines. before you drop the tank see if tou can reach and wiggle the electrical connection on the top of the tank. these pumps have a pigtail issue. please rate
