I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71. The third Brake Light on the cab is not working. My regular brake lights are working fine. I used a test light and there is power to the cargo lamps but not to the brake light even though it is the same assembly (separate wires, obviously.) I checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood and all are okay. Any ideas?
I had same problem i took out the assembly and the bulb and the part that hold the bulb and bent the contacts and replaced havent had a problem since now i replaced ujoints thinking that the squealing but it sounds like it is in center of drive shaft im not sure if its wheel berrings or if its in the rearend
If you can trace the wires and look for a loose jack or broken wire

Can anyone tell me where the power to the High Mount Stop Light (3rd Brake Light) is fed from? Is it a stand alone pair of wires, or is it tapped off of the rear brake lights?
