2001 Oldsmobile Aurora security system default when the battery is hooked up the horn will continuously go off if you unhook the relay for the horn it will stop honking but it won't do anything else when you try to start it the fuel pump will kick on and stay on it seems to be there is no gas getting to the motor but kind of seems like it could be a security issue due to the fact the lights Flash and the horn honks

If the security system is armed, which it can be whenever the battery power is unhooked then hooked up again as the system thinks a theft attempt has been made, try this: Hook up the battery then lock and unlock the driver door using the original key. This will let the system know that you - the owner - have the key and are not trying to steal it. Not a guaranteed fix but works about 90% of the time.

plz check the following and update me
1. Fuel (To be exact proper air/fuel ratio, normally it is about 14/1)
2. Spark (in appropriate moment)
3. Proper timing (the valves should open and close only in appropriate time)
4. Compression in the cylinders (Normal compression is 120 - 170 psi. The engine won't start if the compression is lower than 70 - 80 psi.)

SOURCE: 99 malibu horn honks shifting into D or R

wires from the horn run down the steering column and pass the area where the shift linkage is also in the column. its either a loose wire, or a chafted wire inside the column. Be VERY careful working on this if you have airbags. they must be disarmed before you work on the column.

SOURCE: 1992 Dodge Ram 50: Horn honks all by itself.

Check the horn actuating contact at the centre of the steering wheel. It may be damaged or mis-aligned.
Also check the carbon contact that runs on the slip ring under the steering wheel (associated with steering wheel horn actuate switch) It may be damaged or mis-aligned.

If none of the above are faulty, you should look for a possible intermittent short to ground on the horn actuation control wiring.

You can remove the horn relay and use a Ohm meter and check the resistance between the horn relay connector terminal No. 86 (Black Wire) and ground. If the ohms are less then 5 ohms replace the horn relay. There are a lot more tests but as Polarcycle states you can do what he suggested other then I believe you have two horns in this vehicle.

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Could be the fuel pump relay staying on, it should turn off when turn off the key, sometimes the Tech will jump the system to drain the fuel out and may have installed the relay incorrectly.

The horn is not blowing on my 1999 aurora. fuse and relay switch work

You might run another wire (from battery) to the horn and touch the wire to the horn, if it works it might be relay or fuse. Can you ck voltage to the horn? If you can get someone to try to blow the horn fron inside to ck voltage.
