SOURCE: Heater/ac switch speeds 1 and 2 don not work in 99 Silverado

you need a resister found under your air duct by the passenger floor under dash board auto zone sells these for about 25.00 you may as well buy cabin air filters while your at it . 1 of the screws will be a pain to install back into the duct work I left mine out didn,t make a difference . you might have to order it as they are a comman item oh you will need a vacuum to clean up mess from cabin air filters .this is not a hard job .

SOURCE: 2005 chevy silverado won;t start.

i had the same problem, and it turned out the coil pack was moulding inside wich stopped the spark all together, i ended up changing my coil pack and putting on new wires because the ends connected to the coil were very corroded and that cures the not running part just fine

I habve a 2006 chevy silverado z71 and I need to replace the reverse light switch. Where is it located? Thank you.

I am guessing an automatic transmission? If so, the reverse lights are incorporated into the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission with the shift linkage

Can a 94 chevy cheyenne transmission interchange with a 97 chevy silverado tranmission

Will it physically fit? yes. Will it be a direct replacement any everything hook right up and plug right in? If we are talking about an automatic then no. 1994's wiring was completely different than the 1997. Can it be made to work? possible, but I believe it would be more trouble trying to make it work than if the correct transmission were located and installed. If it is a cost issue where he has a good trans out of a 1994 he might see if a salvage yard will do some partial trading for the correct trans.

Reverse lights don't work. replaced switch and checked fuse and bulbs 1997 subaru legacy

is this car an automatic transmission? if it is then you will need to check the gear selector switch on the transmission. I have seen one that would not properly engage for the park/neutral and reverse switches to function but the car was still drivable.

How replace the multifunction switch

NOTE: Wiring for the multi-function switch is routed under the PRNDL cable.

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the steering column shroud.
  3. Remove two screws attaching the multi-function switch to the steering column casting. Disengage multi-function switch from casting.
  4. Disconnect the two electrical connections. Do not damage locking tabs.
INSTALLATION

  1. Install the two electrical connectors to full engagement.
  2. Align the multi-function switch mounting holes with the holes in the steering column casting.
  3. Install two self-tapping screws making sure to start the screws in the previously tapped holes. Tighten to 2-3 Nm (18-27 inch lbs.).
  4. For automatic transmission, verify that the PRNDL adjustment is correct.
  5. Install the steering column shroud.
  6. Connect the battery ground cable.
  7. Check the steering column for proper operation.
