2006 honda accord flashing green key on dash locksmith could not stop the key from flashing with reprogramming key and immobilizer so what does that mean please help

The Immobilizer needs to be reset to the vehicle so the ECM and BCM recognize it.

The flashing green key is your immobilizer indicator. My recommendation (I am a certified honda tech) is take it to your local acura dealer and have them do a hard reset of the immobilizer and reprogram your keys.

It could also be a bad immobilizer itself. If it is a bad immobilizer, the tech will be able to tell through the diagnostic system used to program keys.

Factory immobilizer is activates. There is either a fault with the immobilizer or it has detected a key being used that is unauthorized. You can try your other key (if you have one), google your car and key programming to see if you can reprogram it to your cat yourself, contact your local dealer or locksmith. You key has a chip in it that may have failed as well

Immobilizer is built in to the ecm. Don't believe you can bypass it. You might be able to purchase a bypass kit that is used with aftermarket car alarms but it will probably be cheaper to get a locksmith to make you obe. Transponder keys are cheap on ebay...then use valet key to have it cut for you. If you can program yours without a computer (key supplier should be able to tell you what is required to reprogram) it shouldn't cost much.

It never feels the same but now you are SAFER with the
knowledge ... you were never actualy safe.

If other than your CAR keys were ALSO taken...
YOU NEED TO FOCUS on those other KEYS
FIRST (particularly house & mail-box)

Truth is...
your car is never ANY safer than the GLASS IN THE Door
(and only we... the owners... care about that GLASS).

Car TRANSPONDER locks are another situation.

If you use a LOCKSMITH it will be cheaper & safer.

I have used eBay to get my new KEY and KEYLESS
entry fobs... AND ... would TRUST a LOCKSMITH worlds
better & longer than I could throw a DEALERSHIP...!!

My niece had her car UNLOCKED and her HIGH-END
sound equipment expertly removed THE NIGHT
following getting her HONDA serviced at
OAKLAND HONDA ...
She nor I FEEL it was a coincidence (opinions)...

Where-as...
LOCKSMITHS trade on their excellent REPUTATION
and do the SAME work for half (or less) the COST.

The Green key Flashing indicates an issue with the immobilizer of the vehicle. This could be a problem with the key being not programmed, or having lost its program. Or this could be an issue with the immobilzer unit, or the part of the ignition switch which reads the key. If the vehicle is cranking with the green light flashing, you will ultimately need the honda dealer computer to program either the key or immobilizer unit.
