Could it be that a previous electric defect killed the previous battery, and now the defect reflects as new problem?
Just saying in case resetting has nothing to do with making the problem go away.

SOURCE: 1999 Volvo s80 fuel line leak before and after the fuel filter

this perticular solution requires special fuel line tools to disconect the clips on the line. I would first locate the leak and determine if the entire fuel line is at fault or if it is just a connection. most commonly a piece of the line has deterieated and cracked and can be readily replaced with an OE part from a local parts house. a fuel line disconect for your vehicle can be gotten at the same parts place in most cases. Just ask the counter person what disconect it takes.

SOURCE: Battery Drain in 4 days

In my case, the problem turned out to be the after-market radio which is on the same circuit as the interior lights and clock. Once it was changed, the problem was solved.

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Stratus, Start Problem/ Electrical?

First thing I would do, is remove, clean, inspect & tighten all battery connections including & especially the other end of my negative connection. Also any connections to a power distribution box, that is usually found near the battery. In your explanation, you say when it does start, everything works normal, does that include radio & clock?

SOURCE: Possible electrical problem? Please help

the thing you not going to like what i say is remove the alarm system.
this is most likely causing your issues as the alarm interacts with some of the electrical's you described.
this may cut down a lot of your issue's. I recommend someone from a shop to do this as wires may need to be repaired while system is removed.

The doors on my S80 are stuck solid at minus 4 ???? help

Can you push it into a heated garage? Maybe shooting some warm air at the doors-even a hair dryer-maybe a garage floor heater that blows hot air. I would suggest a propane torch, but then you might have to get a $2000 paint job! Overkill?

I have a 2001 volvo s80 and the Electronic Climate Control board with the blower knobs, heated seat buttons, and temp control has quit working but all of the fuses are good

I had the same problem with my 2001 s80 my battery went dead and it just stopped working me and a friend looked at every fuse even all of the relays and the relays under the fuse box in the engine compartment but to do that you have to remove the battery terminals so when we were finished checking everything we connected the terminal and started the car and everything was back on I'm assuming that the computer or something needed to be reset.

I have a/c on, and its working great up front, but blowing really hot air in back seat. What's up?

It may be the dampers in the vents they use vacum lines to change positions the vacume line could be bad or the manifold on the switch is not changing like its supposed too.

1999 Volvo S80 T6, Starts blower on its own.

If you are talking about the thermo electric cooling fan, its operation is independent of the car's electical system. It is switched on and off by the engine temperature. When you park, the engine heat soaks upward to heat the thermostat turning the fan on. It will run until the engine cools down and the thermostat switches it off.

2000 Volvo S80 indicator lights & their funct. not wrking

Your CCM (Climate Control Module) is dead, or asleep. Look in the fuse box at the left end of the dashboard and pull the fuse and see if it resets the CCM. The module may need to be reprogrammed or replaced.

My suggestion is that you take this to a Volvo mechanic, one who has experience with working on these 1999- Volvo models. They have a networked computer system that requires special tools to diagnose and download software into the modules.

Also, it is a good idea to have them perform a total software upgrade, it will address many issues, and may prevent other issues from occurring.
