Ive been through the starter wires and eliminated the fusible link. And i have no power to the batt wire on the alternator.
No power at BATT wire.
Certain failures can be misleading depending on troubleshooting technique. To trace this type of fault you need to reference ground directly at the battery.
Use a DMM for troubleshooting, not a test lamp. Connect DMM negative black lead directly at the NEG terminal of the battery. Extend the black lead with a long jumper if necessary, but always reference the ground at BATT NEG. DMMs are $15 from auto parts stores.
Begin testing voltage at battery, then starter solenoid, etc.

SOURCE: WHERE IS FUSIBLE LINK FOR HEAD LAMP WIRING ON 89 CHEVY G VAN
I had a similar problem on my '86 G30 class-c motorhome. Turns out, the fusible link is on the main post of the starter solenoid. There is a metal conduit to protect the wiring from the heat of the headers, crispy wires were inside!
SOURCE: right read blinker/break light dont work, turn signal blinks rapidly
It's the bulb. There are two filliments in the bulb. One is for when you turn your lights on and the other is for breaking and blinker flashing. When the break filliment goes bad it causes the blinker to flash very rapidly. 100% the bulb. Change it and all will be good again. P.S. if it were a fuse none of the break lights or blinkers would work.
SOURCE: Fusible link wire gets really hot.
Removing the two smaller wires stops the exciter current to the alt which stops it charging.
Usually if a wire is getting hot its because:
A: Current overload..
B: Corrosion in wire restricting current.
C: Corroded terminal.
SOURCE: There are two wires with no power at starter. The
a burnt[blown] fusible link must be replaced with a new one ,usually soldered in place, starting circuit is only energised w/switch in start position.trace wires & check connectors.

Is this a no crank situation ?
I have tested with my multimeter and i have power everwhere except the batt wire on the alternator and the front and rear lights.
Negative on the no crank. It cranks fine
Are there two red wires and one brown wire in the alternator plug ? When running what is the battery voltage ? Have you tried carefully hooking a jumper cable from alternator output to the battery positive ? Maybe the headlight switch is bad . Rock Auto has AC Delco replacement for $25 if needed .
Also, there appears to be a fuse for the gauges alternator light in the interior fuse block . Is it good ?
Fuses are good. Yes on those wires. No i have not tried that yet, but i bought a new headlight switch so we will see what happens.
