Modules communicate back and forth on the CAN bus. Code U0100 indicates the PCM is not able to send or receive CAN communication signals. This should be diagnosed by a professional.
Possible causes:

  • A faulty PCM
  • A problem with the control module circuit
  • A problem with the CAN bus

The distributor gear. It wears down and causes rough idling to no start. Pull the distributor, look where the rotor button is pointing as it needs to go in the exact same position. you can get just the gear and replace it. it is held in by a drive pin. Push it out and swap gears and reuse the drive pin. hammer it in.

SOURCE: ECM I fuse keeps blowing

For the ECM 1 fuse to open you obviously have a short to ground , start with the injector disconnected and see if ECM 1 fuse still blows. If it does disconnect crank sensor, also inspect wires for the injectors or any rub through wires here is a diagram cansmo_178.gif

SOURCE: 1997 gmc sierra 1500 ecm fuse pops when trying to replace

you have a wire grounding out somewhere. The only way I know how to find it quickly is not very safe and requires extra work later.

U0100 code 08 cobolt no check engine light

U0100 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that indicates a problem with the communication network in the vehicle. The code specifically refers to a loss of communication with the engine control module (ECM).

If you are seeing this code and there is no check engine light illuminated on the dashboard, it could be an issue with the light itself or a problem with the electrical system.

I recommend starting by checking the fuse for the check engine light to make sure it has not blown. If the fuse is fine, you may want to try using a scan tool to see if it can communicate with the ECM. If the scan tool is unable to communicate with the ECM, there may be a problem with the wiring or the ECM itself.

It's also worth noting that U0100 is a general code and could be caused by a variety of issues, so it may be necessary to do some further diagnostic work to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

2010 Suzuki Kizashi SE 2.4. I recently replaced the motor and ECM. It will crank but won't start, I have 3 codes P062f, P0703, and U0100.

Question edited for clarity

The ECM and the engine need to be from the same vehicle and then the ECM needs programming with your VIN Number and your mileage.

Code U0100 What Does the U0100 Code Mean? DTC U0100 stands for "Lost Communication with ECM/PCM 'A. '" It is triggered once there is a loss of communication between your PCM and a particular module. Once this happens, the vehicle may shut off and it may not restart unless you address the issue triggering the code.May 2, 2021

My 07 mazda6 as four codes u0101,u0155 u0121,u0073,u0100 and stuck in 3rd gear please help

You'll need to get a good auto electrician to look at this. The codes suggest a failed ECU, the brain reading all the engine sensors. If this fails, the car is unusable as the ECU won't let the vehicle work.
Codes read as:
U0073 - Control Module Communication Bus "A" Off
U0100 - Lost Communication With ECM/PCM "A"
U0101 - Lost Communication with TCM
U0121 - Lost Communication With Anti-Lock Brake System
(ABS) Control Module
U0155 - Lost Communication With Instrument Panel
Cluster (IPC) Control Module
I have very little experience with gearboxes so I can't really help with the 3rd gear problem.

2006 VW Jetta code U0100

This problem is with ecu / ecm= engine control computer. These are a common and horrible problem on vw's, particularly on tdi's. The signs in a tdi are when car dash lights come on, but no glow plug light, trans gear lights flash, but car still tries to crank. And hopefully ecu has enough power to out out code u0100= no communication with ecu. Unfortunately the ecu will need to be replacd. The ecu is located under the hood, near and under the wipers. Used ecu with same codes run $50-200. New $1000. If get used one make sure has a return policy. codes must match production quarterly year.
