Your fuel filter is located on the left side of the engine compartment. It w\should be off white in color, plastic cylinder with an In nipple and an Out nipple with rubber hose attached on each nipple.

Fuel and Temp Gauge go on and off intermitently

faulty wiring for the lights, and blinkers....

broken gears for the fuel and temp gauge...

just get rid of the damn car, get a Civic of the same year.

I was given a 323 once, unsiezed the rear brakes (the idiot left the thing parked with the e-brake on all winter), then sold it for beer money.

I'm just wanting to replace the fuel filter in my '88 Mazda 323SE. I'm not having any problems with it however I feel I should change it since it hasn't been done in a while.

It is in the engine compartment on the driver side mounted on the wall it is black with the fuel line running in from the tank side and out to the fuel injector rack. the rubber hose is a little bit hard to get off. I had to use a flat head screw driver to lift the rubber from the filters metal housing some and than i twisted the rubber while holding the filter and it let go. I had to work it off so when i put on the new filter i put just a little bit of oil on it...
