How I line my timing chain marks on a 2002 Dodge intrepid 2.7 litter

The timing is set by aligning the marks on the camshaft gears and the crankshaft gear with colored links on the chain. See the included link for guidance (it's for a Sebring, but the information is the same for an Intrepid). Be aware that rotating the engine after initial timing will change the relationship of the colored links with the gears. Replacing my water pump 2002 dodge intrepid 2.7 the main shaft moved off mark while removing timing chain how do I adjust to not have any problems

If you have a timeing chain you have timeing gears witch have marks on them .These marks need to line up even if you have to remove the chain or the gear don't turn the crank or the cam the gears have key ways that olny let them slide in the shafts in 1 spot the chain will go on in any pisition .

If you mean the 2.7 liter V6 (I think the Intrepid only came with the 2.7 or 3.5 liter V6), the answer is yes. The water pump is driven by the timing chain.

2002 Intrepid wont start

if you have disconected the battery for more than 15min then see if you have a reset on your fuel pump it would have run with the fuel already in the line

Just need timing belt diagram 2002 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter. I changed my plugs, car turns over starts for a minute makes loud sound in the engine, kind of back fires

your intrepid doesnt have a timing belt it has a chain. there are major problems with these engines, theres a big one with the chain jumping due to a tensioner breaking or a guide,heres a diagram for the chain setup.this is a very important setup make sure you use correct sprokets in the right place and also if it jumped timing il bet you may have some bent valves,

I need to know where the timing marks are on a 2002 dodge intrepid with a v6 motor.

the timing marks are located on all four cam cogs and the crank cog. there are also timing marks on the chain itself. there are three gold colored links on the chain. these corospond to the three cogs. good luck.

Here is a diagram from AutoZone. Note that the links shown as black on the diagram are a brighter brass color on the chain.

SOURCE: 2002 dodge intrepid starting issue new water

if you have spark its not a crankshaft sensor.there are marked links on the chain 1 link goes on right cam 2 links go on left cam and 1 link on bottom.(arrows on gears point to links on chain and TDC #1 piston alignment arrow on oil pump)
