Why is the question ? If you have the keys and are stuck in theft mode that's because you had a temporary loss of power from corroded cables and battery post clean them and the power distribution box cable and lug and when the alarm/horn sounds use your keyfob to take it out of theft mode if you don't have one buy it and program it into the system if you have one already the battery is dead change it same for the key if you have an after market key with a large case with to tabs on the bottom to release the case it has a battery ok do not try to disable this system you will destroy the pcm and the instrument cluster and possibly the receiver please explain what is wrong if I didn't answer this question the right way or if the problem persists after you've done what I have described here the Pats system consists of the key the receiver ring the module the instrument cluster and the pcm if you do anything trying to disable it you will completely destroy the whole system and it still will not start please believe me this is not a fairytale here it's real I'm a taxi mechanic in nyc.with 50 + years of experience and I know this PATS SYSTEM AND YOU'LL BE VERY SORRY IF YOU TURN A DEAF EAR ON THIS POST
Call your local Ford dealer.
If there was a way to defeat it, posting the hack here would be open season for car thieves.

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

With the doors shut, insert the key into the drivers door lock. Lock and unlock the door 5 times. This should reset the system. If that doesn't work you should contact a qualified repair shop.

Try disconnecting your battery cables then wait about 10 minutes. The computer should reset itself. Reconnect the wires to the battery. It is normal for the theft light to blink about every 5 seconds when the ignition key is out or in the off position. This means the system is armed and working properly. Hope this helps. God bless!
