The shift solenoid is located up inside your transmission. You will have to drop the trans oil pan, and then drop the valve body. At this point you will see the solenoid with a wire harness attached to the solenoid.The solenoid is about the size of a fist, and is attached with a few screws. Good Luck Friend.

the trans shift solenoid pack is bolted to the side of the trans closer to the radiator. it is rather large and there are three 10mm bolts holding it to the trans. it is under the input speed sensor and just under the spot where the cooler lines go into the trans.

More than likely your brake lights are not working either. Not sure if they have separated the brake lights from the brake safety switch. But more than likely your brake switch on your brake pedal is not working properly. You have to press the brake to shift from park and the computer is not seeing that you are pressing the brake, and not unlocking the shifter.
