If you don't mind me saying. I would not upgrade your headlights with LED replacements. LEDs do not throw light as far as Halogens do. The wave length is much shorter. They are very bright to look at up close but at any distance or through fog, the light is quickly extinguished. To answer your question. It will depend on if the headlights have Halogen or HID. If you have a GT the bulbs you purchased will not fit or replace HID but if it has halogens, the part number is H11. If you have a SE model, you will be looking for a 9005. Please write back and specify which model Elantra you have. Do you have a GT or SE? Which model bulbs did you buy? Let me know what you think or if you have any other questions.
Make sure you will have enough ventilation. Most of leds have fan built in
SOURCE: replace the headlight bulb
Remove the plastic access panel by pressing down on the tab at the top of the penel and pulling the top of the panel towards the engine and off. Needle nose pliers may help with the next steps to remove the spring clips. There are 2 bulbs, the top large bulb is the low beam. To remove it, first remove the socket attached to it, then press the top of the metal spring clip towards the front of the car and towards the passenger side (look closely at the clip to see the latch holding it. The clip then swings back towards the engine. Remove the old bulb, install the new bulb, replace the spring clip, re-connect the socket. (Don't touch the bulb, if you do clean it off with a lint free cloth and alcohol). To replace the lower bulb (parking light), remove the socket, then release the lower end of the spring clip, look closely and you'll see the latch holding it. You have to press it towards the front of the car and swing it towards the passenger side. It will swing up and release the bulb. Replace with new bulb, replace spring clip, connect socket. Don't forget to replace the plastic cover panel by inserting the bottom tabs into the sockets and snapping it closed at the top by pressing it towards the front of the car.
SOURCE: bulbs keep burning out
When you replace headlights in today's cars, DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE BULB!. Handle the bulb only with the packing material the bulb ships in, or with a clean dry cloth. The oils in your skin will cause premature failure of the bulb.
Also, check the sockets (car side) carefully to make sure they are not burned.

SOURCE: How do I change the headlight bulb in a Hyundai
I changed a Right Front low beam bulb this morning on a 2007 Entourage. You have to remove the two bolts on top, use a 10mm socket, then you wiggle side to side and pull the entire headlight assembly forward. The headlight gets caught a little behind the grill so you have to pull sideways a little then forward with a little force. I heard some scraping plastic but nothing broke. Then you remove the black round cap in the back and change the bulb.
