If the car is idling or during driving, abnormal noise in the transmission part is heard in the cab. The possible reasons are: lack of transmission oil or deterioration of oil quality; worn, loose or damaged transmission bearings; bent transmission shafts; abnormal gear meshing, too large or too small meshing gap; metal peeling of gear teeth, broken teeth or Repair the misalignment of the assembly; the groove of the shift lever and shift fork is loose.
The corresponding measures are as follows: there is dry metal friction sound when the car is driving, and the transmission shell feels hot when touching the transmission shell by hand. This is caused by the lack of lubricating oil or the deteriorating lubricating oil. The oil should be refueled or checked, and replaced if necessary. Have someone watch the engine while you step on the gas( e brake on and tires blocked so that the car cannot move) to see how much movement the engine does. You may have bad engine/transmission mounts.

SOURCE: Change Automatic Transmission oil

Honda's are drain and refill only. The filter is internal inside the transmission and can only be accessed during an overhaul. On the bottom of the transmission case is a drain plug that is gold in color. It is removed using a 3/8" ratchet,or extension with a ratchet atached. There is also an aluminum washer that must be kept track of and reinstalled with the drain plug or a leak will occur. After draining the trans, and reinstalling the drain plug,Honda genuine automatic transmission fluid,or an equivalent with a highly fricition modified additive must be used,or harsh shifting can occur.I would install about 3 quarts after draining, and start checking the level at this point. The fluid level is checked with the engine OFF,on level ground.

SOURCE: Transmission fluid/filter change in 2000 Honda Odyssey

I would not recommend using Dexron III. Honda Odysseys are prone to transmission problems. A drain and fill with Genuine Honda Fluid is Recommended. The drain plug can be removed with a 3/8 ratchet at the bottom of the trans. The fill hole is at the top of the trans. You remove it with a socket on a long extension. The capacity is close to 3 quarts

SOURCE: i have a 1999 Honda Accord V6 and cant find trans fill point

Just the very top ring of the transmission dipstick is visible with the air filter housing lifted up. Removing the upper air filter housing and the rubber ducting for the intake will allow enough room for a transmission funnel to be used.

Why do my 2001 honda accord make a whining noise when i turn it on from the passenger side of the engine?

Sounds like the power steering pump or the alternator is going. If it is a howling, then I suspect it is the power steering pump. Try adding oil to the power steering or check to see if there is the proper amount of oil in the power steering reservoir.

Where's the drain plug on 95 honda civic cx transmission fluid?

You have to slowly remove the bolts around the transmission oil pan. You let one side a little lower than the other, keep catch basin real handy. let a good portion of the ATF out and thenremove the rest of the bolts and let it all drain. It can be a little messy.

My 2001 honda crv is about 50,000 miles. what maintenance service do you recommend?

50,000 miles then all its needed is the oil changed. One thing though, the automatic transmissions on honda's don't last as long as the engines. They seem to last about 120,000 miles on most newer hondas. The manual transmissions are bulletproof though. Other than a clutch every 150,000 miles or so a manual transmission accord will run much longer than the body will last if its driven normally.
