Water buildup can be due to humidity and condensation. This is a common problem on the Cadillac SRX 2010-2011(at least). The replacement can cost about $1,500 USD through a dealership.
If your SRX has a Northstar V/8 engine the starter is under the intake manifold. The manifold has to be removed to access the starter. Hope this helps, thank you
