If you're asking how do you change a taillight bulb, then follow this procedure:
Open the trunk lid.
Disconnect the connectors from the taillights (taillight bulb connectors are visible by looking inside the trunk at the back of the tail lamps.) There may be an interior trunk trim panel that you have to take off but in most cases its just a series of thumb screws that hold them in.
Brake Lights/Taillights: 21/5 W
Rear Turn Signal Light: 21 W
Back-up Light: 21 W
Rear Side Marker Light: 5 W
Turn the bulb sockets 45 º counterclockwise to remove the bulbs.
If you're removing the taillamps with the bumper off there are 3 nuts and screws that hold the taillight to the rear panel of the car that have to come off from the inside of the trunk.
Remove the nuts and screws, then remove the taillight.
hope that answers your question

I have never heard of this particular problem however my experience has taught me that generally with led's you have to make sure you have a good clean ground. led's draw more amprage in the circuit and if the ground is weak it will back feed this is what is most likely setting off the fault light. a quick fix is to just add a ground to the harness. hard wire a white 12 gauge wire to the main harness on both sides and then you can connect the wire to the metal of the trunk with self tapping metal screws. this will give you a good clean ground. this will do the trick.... The one thing youll find with subaru's is that they like to put nuts in funny places that are hard to access. There are either 3 or 4 nuts holding the tail-light assembly in place, which means youll need to take out most of the inner panels to access the others. You should not need a sealant unless the rubber seal is done for or there is water inside the car. Hope this helps
