Any slight imbalance in the rotating fan will be most noticeable at low speed because it may be hitting something in the cavity. Check it out of the car.
Testimonial: "Hi, I took it out and there was a leaf in it so I took it out and replaced it. I also check to make sure it was working. I put it back in and it was fine for one day. But now today it's started making like a whacking noise about every 13 to 17 seconds, but it not making the whirring noise anymore. I don't get it! I'm guess I'm just going to pray it keeps working. It was very easy to get out, like it could have been a little loose. Is there a belt or anything I should check?"
SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?
If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.
SOURCE: Need the correct steps to change the alternator on a 1998 saturn SL2
1st take the positive post off when you start removing it. You will have to remove the ball joint on that side to get it off.
SOURCE: blower motor wont work
Disconnect connector at blower under pass side of dash.Check for power & ground with the blower switch in the #4 speed (High). Most Likely a blower motor if all 4 speeds are out.If high works but no other speeds, you need a blower resistor.Blower easy to change 3 screws & one connector.hope this helps
SOURCE: how to replace coolant heat sensor on 1998 saturn
the coolant temp sensor is located on the right side of the cyl head its small under by the upper rad hose 13mm socket removes it after u take the small connector of,make sure the car is cold coolant will come out when u remove it,,,,check the connector too for corrosion,by only saturn sensor the cheap autozone and aftermarket ones dont read right and give you the same problem as the old bad one
SOURCE: replace blower motor 1998 plymouth voyager
it is located behind and below the glove box,you might want to remove the glove box assembly to see it easier,
there are four screws holding a blower motor cover you to take off first, now remove the screws holding the blower motor up,disconnect the motor wires.
if your changing this because you think its bad,you should test the blower motor wires with a test light with the key on and blower switch turned on.if you have power in the wires, then it is bad.
but if you have no power in wires it could be blower motor resister,or switch.
