Yes and no. The 2wd trans will physically bolt up to the engine, but you will need a different drive shaft to fit the rear end. It will not be a direct swap.

1999 Frontier: nissan frontier 2000 automatique tansmision revers...

Either transmission oil pump is on its way out or reverse circuit is clogged , reverse shift solenoid is defective TCM may be defective , transmission range sensor begining to fail or manual shift valve and pressure regulator are defective.

Suggest taking the vehicle to a transmission repair shop they will diagnosis it and repair it.

Transmission is not shifting properly on my 2000 nissan frontier 2wd pick up, auto It revs at 3-4000 rpm instead of a nice consitent 2000rpm, revs real high and doesnt change gears intill 20 mph, it doesnt...

You could have a bad valvebody in your transmission or a bad pump in your transmission or your clutches are bad. In any case you have a bad transmission. Please rate my answer.

Transmition "slipping"? 2000 frontier ext cab 12000m

Dear Kenny,
Unfortunately, you will need to get to a transmission shop a.s.a.p,
because there is a good possibility you "tranny" is about to "go out".
Be sure to carefully check the transmission fluid level right now.
If you have only 300 to go, perhaps you might rent a car to finish your trip whilst someone fixes the problem.
